Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Trimax Razor aluminum ball mount for two inch hitches. It has an eight inch drop and an 8,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this ball mount is gonna let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The solid shank portion right here is what'll slide into your vehicle's two inch hitch receiver and it'll secure to your receiver using a 5/8-inch diameter pin and clip or a hitch lock.
Now, the pin and clip or the hitch lock is not included. We do sell those separately on our website, and you just wanna get one that'll fit a 5/8-inch diameter hole. Now, the ball platform right up front here provides the mounting point for your hitch ball and the hitch ball is also sold separately. You do wanna make sure to get a hitch ball that'll fit into a ball hole diameter right here of one inch. Now, this ball mount offers an eight inch drop, and the drop is always measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform.
This is a fixed design, so it does give you the exact drop you need. Now, these also come available in a two inch drop, a four inch drop, a six inch drop, and even a 10 inch drop. Now, this ball mount is built from 100% forged aluminum so it won't corrode over time. It is a solid aluminum construction, so it makes it very easy to handle without the excess weight. And as we mentioned, the weight rating is 8,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight rating of 800 pounds, and that is stamped right on the ball mount in front here.
Last thing I'm gonna give you is the length, and when you measure ball mount, the length is always measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. So if we take a ruler and if we go center here to the center of the ball hole right here is right at 10 1/2 inches.
