This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable red powder coat primed paint that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish, which allows for easy welding, has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use.
The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of an impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin compound that provides the flexibility and strength needed to bounce back from a collision. Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Demco Easy Latch Trailer Coupler with the five position adjustable channel for a 2-5/16 diameter hitch ball. Has a 21,000 pound weight capacity. Now this cast ball coupler will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, provides the connection point for your hitch ball. The channel bracket right here is what'll allow you to adjust the couplers height to match different tow vehicles. If you notice, on the bracket there's six holes on each side to offer five mounting positions and the mounting holes are 2" apart center to center.The coupler uses an easy latch mechanism to ensure simple secure hook-up and disconnect. It'll let you hook-up when the latch is in the closed position like it is now.
All you have to do is just drop the coupler over the hitch ball and a latch will snap into place. I just want to show that to you. Here's an example of a 2-5/16 diameter hitch ball. So if we just drop the coupler over it, and you can see when you drop it down on top of it, it'll automatically latch and lock into place and you're all ready to go. Simple as that.
To remove it just pull up on the latch and it'll remove it from the hitch ball. Very simple connection.Now, on this latch it's a corrosion proof polymer nylon resin composite latch handle. It's durable and impact resistant. You can see it's a nice sleek low profile design so it allows hazards to simply slip over the top of the coupler preventing any damage to the latch components. The adjustable channel bracket here is designed to weld onto your trailer.
They do include these two gussets for extra strength when you're welding it on. Basically, just bolt the coupler to the bracket with the four included grade five bolts and nuts. The four bolt attachment provides nice secure rattle free connection. I've just only temporarily put them in there. I haven't tightened them all the way down, that's why they'll seem a little loose here.
Just wanted to demonstrate it.It is a sturdy steel construction. The red powder coat prime finish on the coupler offers excellent corrosion resistance. Does meet the 500 hour salt spray rating, so it's great for marine applications. This whole unit is SAEJ684 certified. Again, the specs on this: the coupler fits a ball sized diameter of 2-5/16, weight capacity of 21,000 pounds. Few dimensions on the channel bracket itself, overall heighth on it is right at 12" tall. The width on it, which is inside width that the coupler goes into, going to be right at 3" wide. The wall thickness is half an inch. The coupler itself, the dimension, the length of it is 8-1/8" long. The width on it is 2-7/8" wide. And if you notice, the hole right here on the coupler that's actually a lock pin hole that you can put a coupler lock through there. Basically your diameter of that hole is 5/16" diameter. The minimum span you'll need for a pin lock is 3" minimum.But again, just to show you how to connect to the ball just put your coupler over that, and when you drop it right into place you can see it locks onto the ball and you're all ready to go. Again, to remove it just lift up on the latch and you can take it right off.But that should do it for the review on the Demco Easy Latch Trailer Coupler with the five position adjustable channel for a 2-5/16" diamter ball and has a 21,000 pound weight capacity.

have been useing these couplers for a couple of years now. really like the ease in hooking trailers up. ability to adjust height of coupler after its installed is very convient. would recommend this coupler to any and all.

Very good quality, construction, and finish. This was used to replace a 5000# rated coupler on my RV trailer that was just not strong enough. It has an extra 2-3" of length than the old coupler so make sure your safety chains have enough length to accommodate the extra length. One bonus for me was that the extra length was just enough to allow me to open the back door of my SUV with the trailer hitched (which I couldn't do before). The DEMCO coupler does take a 2 1/2" wide hitch pin /lock which is different than most couplers.
Heavy duty for sure. Drilling 1/2” holes in 1/4” thick angle iron on the trailer required more than a hand drill, but other than that installation was simple. Removing the original coupler was a chore because it was welded on both top and bottom. I had to use a hacksaw (3 blades), 2 lb mallet, large crowbar, steel chisel, grinder. Fortunately I had all that, and I’m very pleased with the result.
Great product! This thing's built like a tank. We're always pulling the heaviest things possible with our trailers and this stands up to the job.

Installed this AWESOME hitch on my 20 ft equipment trailer after I upgraded to 8k axles. This hitch is a beast. I love the no touch when hooking up. Just lower the trailer down and it makes a positive lock sound. I welded the hitch to a 1/2 inch thick plate. Welded the plate onto the trailer and used my own gussets instead of the supplied ones. You won’t go wrong with this hitch!
I decided I wanted to renew my Dad's old trailer. Starting with a trailer coupler upgrade to the adjustable "eZ-Latch". Thanks to etrailer it was an easy, convenient one stop shop and I couldn't be more pleased with the products and service. Was very easy to install. I did have to grind a bit off the back so I could get clearance for the bolt holes to line up. Only took about 30 min to install.

I was a little disappointed when I opened the box yesterday and found that there was no keeper pin with the couplers now I have to go to town and find the right size ! I was thinking it would come with one ! should have a option to buy the correct one or just send one with !! thanks
Easiest coupler I have ever used. A must if you are constantly switching trailers, or hooking up.
Great fit. Easy fix. Replaced my worn thin ball hitch. Grade 5 1/2" bolts with lockwashers.
When my old coupler failed I was very happy to find a bolt on coupler this heavy as most are weld on for a trailer this heavy. I wish I would have changed the coupler years ago. I always had trouble with the old one. This one is so easy to latch and unlatch from my truck. It is great quality.

Excellent product, fit perfect. Very nice spring loaded ball latch, you do not have to lift up to place on ball. I highly recommend it.
