This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco easy latch trailer coupler. This is gonna provide a connection for your 2 5/16 inch hitch ball on your tow vehicle so that you can hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle and take it down the road. And this does feature the easy latch mechanism that's going to ensure a nice, simple and secure hookup and disconnect. I've got a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball here to show you how this is gonna work. So unlike your other couplers out there on the market that you have to open up and get prepared, this will connect to your ball even when it is in the closed position.
So you just drop the coupler over the hitch and it's going to snap in place there and give you that nice solid connection. And then when you're ready to disconnect you'll just lift up on that latch and lift jack your trailer up and you will disconnect. So very simple to get connected there. Now this will mount onto this three inch wide by 12 inch tall adjustable channel that will be welded onto your trailer. This does have six holes here that will provide five different positions.
So you can change your coupler's height depending on the ball height of your tow vehicle. So if you are gonna be using one trailer and multiple vehicles to tow it you can switch that up to make sure that your trailer is gonna be riding nice and level. They do give you these grade five bolts to get this secured in place. So it's gonna give you a nice solid connection having those four bolts there. Once you get them tightened down it's gonna provide a nice rattle free secure connection for you.
This is constructed of a cast steel for our coupler here. It's made here in the USA so you can trust it is gonna be good quality. It's gonna provide a 2,000, or sorry, a 20,000 pound weight capacity and it is SAE J684 certified so you can trust it is gonna be good quality. And you can see it also has this powder coat finish on the coupler that's going to offer excellent corrosion resistance with 500 hour salt spray rating. So it's gonna be great for your marine applications.
So if you're wanting to put this on your boat trailer will hold up really well for you. Our latch handle here is a nice low profile design and it is constructed of a durable polymer nylon resin composite and so it is going to be very, very durable as well as corrosion proof. So you're not gonna have to worry if you are putting it in the water and that sort of thing. It's not gonna rust or corrode. You can see we do have a hole here on the side that's going to be for a coupler lock that is a 5/16 inch diameter hole. So if you do want to add on a locking pin you can slide that through and that will prevent the latch from lifting so that no one can come along and disconnect for you. We do have those locking pins that are sold separately just wanna make sure that you've got a 5/16 inch diameter and it will need to be three inches in usable span there to ensure that it's going to match up. One thing I will point out with this if you are needing to adjust that height pretty frequently it'd be kind of a pain to have to undo these bolts so it might be a little bit easier for you to switch it out to a pin. We do have that etrailer hitch pin and clip that you see on the screen there. So you would just need two of those. They are rated for the same weight capacity and they have a four inch span. This is about three and three quarters of an inch on the outsides here. So that will give you plenty of room so that you can switch out and put one on the top, one on the bottom. That way you can just very simply pull out the clip and pin and then adjust your coupler to whatever right height you need. But that's really just for those situations where you're gonna be changing that height pretty frequently. If not, these included bolts are gonna do a great job and give you a little more security, less rattle and that sort of thing. One last dimension I want to give you for your information. This is going to be little over eight inches we'll call it eight and one eight of an inch long. So keep that in mind. Make sure that it's gonna work for your setup dimensions and that sort of thing. This is a new brand to me. I'm installing for a client and wanted a quality fail safe coupler. This is it, very heavy duty, solid latching system. I expect years of worry free service from this coupler.
Simple design, sturdy hardware, wish it came with just two long bolts vs 4 shorter ones for when you adjust the height though.
Shipping was on time. Quaility excellent. Bolts for mounting hitch to receiver were to long. Additional lock washer and easy install. Really easy to use!
Bought to replace a more basic trailer coupler. I like the EZ latch because you don't need to flip anything up, just drop it on the ball.
This is the third one I've bought. You just back up, drop it on the hitch and it's hooked up.!) To disconnect, you just lift the lever handle (so smooth and easy) and it's loose. Eliminates all the frustration and works smoothly. Great product!
Definitely.A great hitch would have liked to see a pin to hold the latch down. Otherwise great product really heavy duty
Excellent coupler. Fit my single axle trailer with the adjustable channel mount. Makes connecting the trailer to my ATV or car super easy. Much better than a regular coupler that is difficult to engage and disengage.
Best coupler I have found. Have converted three trailers to these. When moving a trailer with a ball hitch adapter on a piece of equipment (3-point hitch on a tractor in our case), the auto-latch feature lets you attach to the trailer without getting off the machine.
solid build, heavy.
This is installed on a dump trailer so we needed a cast hitch--the original was steel and the gusset underneath bent with use and abuse to the point of only being functional with the aid of a 5LB hammer.
I had to grind a little on the back end to make the bolts align to both holes (maybe 1/16th?) but other than that, it is a step up from the original hitch.

Great replacement coupler, however be aware it does not include the pin lock. So essentially it is non usable until a pin lock is acquired. That in itself seems easy until you try and find a 5/16 diameter that is at least 3.5 inches long locally to use quick.
Perfect addition to my new trailer.The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Worked perfect with the adjustable weld on channel. Was able to drop the ball coupler 10” from the old lunette height on an M1101 military trailer. Not a lot of fab work, just a couple of 3/8” plates and bolted them up and welded the channel on an bolted the ball coupler at the height I needed to level the trailer when towing with my Jeep Galdiator.

Just would’ve have been great to received the color I ordered. Not a deal breaker though. Ended up getting the primer color instead of the red at least no price difference
Seems like a quality product at a good price, you will receive exactly what you see. Box it was shipped in was a little beat up due to the items weight and handling, but didn’t affect contents.
Do not buy.False advertising.You will be sent a white one but charged for red.
I wanted peace of mind towing equipment without the loud pintle hook.
This is overkill for what I need but is exactly what I was looking for.
