This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable zinc coating that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 300-hour salt spray rating, allowing it to stand up to the elements.

Today we're going to take a look at the Demco easy-latch trailer coupler with the five-position adjustable channel, designed to fit onto a 2-and-5/16ths hitch ball, and has a 21,000 pound weight capacity. This cast-ball coupler right here will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, provides the connection point for your hitch ball, does use the easy-latch mechanism which will ensure simple and secure hook-up and disconnect. All you have to do is when the coupler drops over, you can see it automatically lifts up and locks right into place, and you're all ready to go. To remove it, just lift up on the easy-latch handle, and it releases it just like that. Very simple hook up. Now the latch itself, the easy latch, is a corrosion-proof polymer nylon resin composite latch handle. It's very durable and impact resistant. You can see it's a nice, sleek, low profile design, so it allows hazards to simply slip over the top of the coupler, preventing any damage to the latch components. Now the channel bracket that it attaches to, this will allow you to adjust the coupler's height to match different tow vehicles.
You can see the six mounting holes on each side of the bracket will offer you five different mounting positions. Basically, you just slide that in the inside and then connect it with your bolts to whatever position you need. The adjustable channel bracket will weld onto your trailer. Basically, you'll just bolt the coupler to the bracket using these included Grade 5 bolts and nuts. The four-bolt attachment will provide secure, rattle-free connection.
I also include two gussets, which when do weld this to your trailer, you can see you can use the two gussets to give you additional support. This is all a nice, sturdy steel construction that has a zinc finish here on the coupler, offers corrosion resistance, meets a 300-hour salt spray rating. It is all SAEJ684 certified. Again, the ball size this fits on is a 2-and-5/16ths diameter. Weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. Give you a few dimensions. We'll start with the channel bracket.
The overall height on the bracket is right at 12 inches tall, and the inside width is going to be right at 3 inches. The thickness of it is a half-inch, and the mounting holes, the six mounting holes, are going to be right on 2-inch centers. Now on the coupler, dimensions on that. Overall length, very front to very back, is going to be right at 8-and-1/8th inches long. The overall width is going to be right at 2-and-7/8ths inches wide. Now it does have a lock pinhole. This little hole right here, it's a 5/16ths diameter. You can put a pin through there to lock that latch into place, to keep it from being removed. It will require a pin lock that has a minimum length of 3 inches to go through here. Just what I needed. Great coupler we had one on another trailer and liked it so much we had to get another one.
This is the third one I've bought. You just back up, drop it on the hitch and it's hooked up.!) To disconnect, you just lift the lever handle (so smooth and easy) and it's loose. Eliminates all the frustration and works smoothly. Great product!

Excellent coupler. Fit my single axle trailer with the adjustable channel mount. Makes connecting the trailer to my ATV or car super easy. Much better than a regular coupler that is difficult to engage and disengage.
Best coupler I have found. Have converted three trailers to these. When moving a trailer with a ball hitch adapter on a piece of equipment (3-point hitch on a tractor in our case), the auto-latch feature lets you attach to the trailer without getting off the machine.

This is installed on a dump trailer so we needed a cast hitch--the original was steel and the gusset underneath bent with use and abuse to the point of only being functional with the aid of a 5LB hammer.
I had to grind a little on the back end to make the bolts align to both holes (maybe 1/16th?) but other than that, it is a step up from the original hitch.

Great replacement coupler, however be aware it does not include the pin lock. So essentially it is non usable until a pin lock is acquired. That in itself seems easy until you try and find a 5/16 diameter that is at least 3.5 inches long locally to use quick.
This is a new brand to me. I'm installing for a client and wanted a quality fail safe coupler. This is it, very heavy duty, solid latching system. I expect years of worry free service from this coupler.
Perfect addition to my new trailer.The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Worked perfect with the adjustable weld on channel. Was able to drop the ball coupler 10” from the old lunette height on an M1101 military trailer. Not a lot of fab work, just a couple of 3/8” plates and bolted them up and welded the channel on an bolted the ball coupler at the height I needed to level the trailer when towing with my Jeep Galdiator.
