Question:
Troubleshooting No 12 Volt Power at 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2009 Chevy or GM Duramax Pickup I have Duramax, dual battery setup. If I ohm out the wire taped to wiring harness, it does not attached to my 7 way trailer plug. I have no red black striped wire on my plug. Where does this wire go?

It is possible that the 12 volt circuit is not present on your 2009 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. For some reason GM did not always complete the tow package wiring. If the proper wires are not already present on your truck then you can manually run a wire from the main 12 volt battery to the 7-Way trailer connector.
You would just need about 25 feet of wire # 12-1-1 sold by the foot. And you can either use the 12 volt post and fuse location on the power distribution box or run the wire straight to the vehicle battery via a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540.
When routing the wiring be sure to avoid areas that can damage the wire such as engine, exhaust, and suspension components. I have included a link to a help article with tips on routing a power wire.
