We ordered 3 Kenda S-Trail 145/12 tires for our pop-up, along with Reese friction sway control, sway control tab, and a Camco step cover. The order arrived quickly, was complete, and was packed well. We've dealt with etrailer before and this is their usual excellent service. Now to get the tires put on and we'll see how we like them! 362680

Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Type of Ball Mount Suited for Welding on Sway Control Tab 3442
  • The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS20048B fits 2-1/2-inch hitches which are generally going to be towing trailers that are larger than what a simple friction sway control mechanism will handle. A friction sway ball mount tab # 3442 could be welded on but I would not do that to such a nice ball mount as the B&W. You will be better off selecting a fixed ball mount with the rise or drop you currently need and welding the tab onto that ball mount if you want to use a friction anti-sway...

  • Recommended Friction Sway Control System For Dual Friction Setup
  • For the dual friction you are looking for, I recommend adding the Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit - Economy - by Draw-Tite, Reese and Hidden Hitch # 83660 to your hitch ball. This adjustable friction sway bar can be added using the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts - Class III and IV # RP26003 or the 1-1/4 inch ball mount bracket # RP26005. It is recommended to pull the cotter pin to disengage this bar when backing up. You can also expand this system by adding another...

  • Availability of Left Hand Friction Sway Control Bar
  • Since friction sway control bars, like the Pro Series # 83660, already fit both left and right side manufacturers have not created one that is specifically for the left hand side. You will need to have another Sway Control Tab # 3442 professionally welded onto the Weight Distribution (WD) hitch head that you currently have. As far as replacing the current one that you have, it really just depends on how worn it is. If it is looking like it needs to be replaced or it is not very effective...

  • Recommended Sway Control for Neo V-Nose Enclosed Trailer 26 Feet Long
  • For your NEO NMS2685TR with the enclosed V-nose, the Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 is the best option. Because of the length of your trailer, two are recommended. You can use the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 for one side and you will need to weld a tab like # 3442 onto the other side of your ball mount. I've attached some videos and an article to further assist.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation with 4 inches of Drop and Platform Thickness of 3/4 inch
  • What you want is the Draw Tite ball mount part # DT40201. This ball mount has a 4 inch drop and has a ball mount platform thickness of 3/4 inches. For a 2 inch ball you'd want the part # A-90 or for 2-5/16 inch you'd want part # 19286.

  • Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2009 Audi Q7
  • If your 2009 Audi Q7 does not have a factory trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle then you will need to install both the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit part # 119250KIT and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7 in order for a brake controller to work. Trailer brake controllers are universal and can be adapted to fit any vehicle with the correct wiring harness. The correct wiring...

  • Availability of Adjustable 2-Inch Multi-Ball Ball Mount Rated for 10K
  • On a multi-ball adjustable ball mount like the 10K B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10049B the weight ratings vary for each ball. For this item you can tow up to 3,500-lbs with the 1-7/8-inch ball, 7,500-lbs with the 2-inch ball, or 10,000-lbs with the 2-5/16-inch ball. This adjustable mount offers a height range of 7-inches of drop up to 7-1/2-inches of rise. It is possible to weld on a sway control tab # 3442 but this might interfere with the adjustability.

  • Adjustable Ball Mount that Can be Used with Friction Sway Control
  • You can use sway control only with an adjustable ball mount in one of two ways. First, you could use sway control bracket # RP26003 which will fit a ball mount platform up to 2.610 inches wide. It also has a 1 inch diameter hitch ball hole. The other option is to weld on a sway control bracket # 3442. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder. For an adjustable ball mount that already has a sway control portion on it we have # 7390. It is rated for 6,000 pounds...

  • Recommended Friction Sway Control Setup for Trailer 26 Feet Long or Weight Distribution System
  • For your system, the Draw-Tite Ball Mount - 2-3/4" Rise, 4" Drop - 8-3/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # DT40201 will give you the 4 inch drop you are seeking for level coupler height. Then the friction sway control kit # 83660 comes into play for the trailer. To add the bracket for this system to your ball mount, you will need # RP26003 but you are correct that the hitch ball hole size is 1 inch so you will need to use a 1 inch diameter shank hitch ball like # C40007. To ensure there is not excessive...

  • Can Friction Sway Control Be Installed on Driver Side of Trailer
  • You can pretty easily install a friction sway control system on the driver side of a trailer. You would just need to remove the inner piece of the system like part # 83660 and then rotate it 180 degrees and reinsert it into the outer piece. You would then need the part # 3442 to weld onto the driver side of your ball mount.

  • Can a Friction Sway Control Be Used on Both Sides of a Trailer Tongue
  • The Pro Series Friction Sway Control, # 83660, that you referenced can be used on both sides of your trailer tongue. You can simply remove the slide bar from the main body assembly and flip it over. The compression plate will be upside down, but it will still work. This is one of our most popular friction sway controls and includes everything that you will need to install the bar. If you are using the sway control without a weight distribution system, then you will want to weld a sway...

  • Ball Mount Options that Have Sway Control Ball Mounting Tab
  • Some draw bars will have the sway bar ball attachment mounted to the side of the ball mount platform like the Curt Ball Mount part # D320. Other options include using an adapter like part # RP26003 which fits on top of the platform between it and the hitch ball. Or you can have the tab welded to the side of the platform with part # 3442. We also have an adjustable ball mount part # 7390 which allows for various drop/rise settings and has the platform for the sway control ball. With...

  • Can Sway Control Adapter Plate # RP26003 Be Used on the Left or Right Side
  • I do have an option that will allow you to use a sway control bar on the left side of a ball mount, however, the Reese Sway Control adapter plate # RP26003 is designed to be used on the right side only. To be used on the left side, this plate would have to be turned upside down and the lip on the bottom of the plate would not allow the hitch ball to be completely tightened to the plate and the lip would interfere with the operation of the sway control bar. • Sway Control Tab to Weld Onto a Ball Mount to Use Pro Series Friction Sway Control Bar
  • What you are looking for is sway control tab # 3442. It is meant to be welded onto a ball mount for a friction sway control bar but you won't have to worry about drilling a hole because it already has a hole. The hole is 5/8 inch diameter to match the 5/8 inch diameter shank on the vehicle side sway control balls.

  • Recommended Sway Control Tab For Adding Second Sway-Control To Trailer With Reese WD System
  • On some but not all of the weight distribution systems, there are two tabs for the sway control system. Typically, to add a second sway-control bracket to their WD hitch, the Draw-Tite Sway Control Tab, part # 3442 is welded on to the head of the system, giving an additional mount for the sway control ball as you asked about. You can then add the Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit, part # 83660 which has the ball included and can be used in the # 3442 tab.

  • Sway Control Bracket Recommendation for a Left Hand Sway Bar
  • You can use the Curt Ball Mount with Sway Control Bracket, # D320, in the rise position to have the sway control bracket on the left side, but you will want to remember that doing this will raise the height of your trailer tongue by almost 3 inches. This can create additional sway issues even with a sway control bar installed. Another option that you can look into is using a weld on sway control tab like part # 3442. This tab can be welded to the side of your current ball mount to provide...

  • Can Weight Distribution be Used with 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch on 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan
  • If your 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan has a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver then you cannot use weight distribution because the hitch is not rated for it and cannot handle the stress. You would have to have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver that is rated for weight distribution AND the vehicle must also be rated for it (consult vehicle owners manual). None of the 2 inch trailer hitches available for your Tiguan are rated for weight distribution. But you can use sway control with a 1-1/4...

  • Recommendations for Sway Control While Towing a Travel Trailer in Windy Conditions
  • Good news, I can help you figure out a solution to your sway issue. The suspension enhancement from Timbren # TGMRYS4 you were looking at will help your Avalanche handle the sway a little better but not prevent the sway. If you wanted to help prevent the sway, I would recommend the friction sway control bar # 83660. If your travel trailer happens to be over 26 feet long then you may want to get two sway control bars, the second can mount on the trailer with an additional weld on...

I've attached a photo including some other measurements I took on this bracket for you. An easier solution to accommodate 2 friction sway control bars is to use 2 weld-on tabs # 3442 with your ball mount. The Curt Ball Mount with Sway Control Bracket # D320 has one sway control bracket already welded on to the ball mount. This ball mount offers 3/4 inches of...

  • Can Dual Cam Sway Control # RP26002 be Used with Pro Series Weight Distribution Hitch # PS49903
  • The Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control System # RP26002 can be used only with trunnion bar type weight distribution systems, such as their Strait-Line # RP66084. It will not work with your round bar system # PS49903 because the round bars enter the head from underneath rather than from the side as trunnion bars do and the bars on your system lack the angled bends at their ends which are what grab the dual cams to steady the trailer. • Adding a Mounting Plate for a Second Friction Sway Control Ball On a Ball Mount
  • You will need to use the weld-on friction sway control tab # C45822 or # 3442. It will get welded to the side of the ball mount. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder. Once welded on it will look like ball mount # D320 except the tab will be welded to the other side (since the plate you are using is occupying the passenger side of the ball mount).

  • Recommendation To Use Weight Distribution System with Sway Control When Tow Vehicle Capacity Is High
  • For the weight, you may not need to use a weight distribution system with your larger towing capacity. However, if you have a weight distribution system that has sway control like # EQ37100ET, I recommend using it because it will still help mitigate the effects of crosswinds and passing traffic. If you don't want to use weight distribution or if your system doesn't include the sway control, then I recommend the Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 along with # RP26003. If your...
