How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement speaker or adding a new speaker or speakers to your audio setup:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the speaker mounts flush to the wall or ceiling.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the speaker's frame and magnet structure to fit.

Today we're going to look at the Jensen six inch diameter, 24 watt recessed mount indoor RV speaker.Now, this indoor speaker will project sound from your TV or radio inside your RV or camper. This is a dual cone designed speaker, so it features a paper whizzer cone and a woofer cone. The whizzer cone will produce the high frequencies more effectively. And the woofer cone produces the bass sounds and the internal dampening.It's all in a nice durable metal frame and metal grill. And it is a simple recessed mount, bolt-on installation. And you can see the four holes to install it with.Now, the mounting hardware to install this is not included.
And this all is a white color.A few specs on this. The woofer diameter is four and three quarter inches. Maximum wattage on this is 24 watts. The impedance is four ohms. Frequency response is 141 hertz to six kilohertz.
Magnet weight on this is four ounces, and this is for a quantity of one speaker.The last thing I want to do is just give you some measurements on this. The overall dimension, we're going to measure the diameter from this edge to this edge. And there's your six inch diameter. The depth on it, if we measure to the top of the grill is going to be right two inches deep. And then the cutout dimension, that's the section that ...
this part will go into the cutout. So the diameter on the cutout is going to be four and 7/16th inches. And the depth from here to here is going to be one and 5/8ths inches deep. And the mounting hole spacing, in other words there's your four mounting holes. The measurement on those from center to center is going to be right at three and 7/8ths inches.But that should do it for the Jensen six inch diameter, 24 watt, recessed mount indoor RV speaker..
