Hello Robert.
I have the perfect set up for you. For the hitch I would go with our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98844, this hitch comes in a matte black finish which I think gives it that nice OEM look. This hitch is rated for 900 lbs Tongue Weight, and 6,000 lbs Towing. You will want to check your owners manual to see what the Highlander is rated for, just because the hitch can handle that much weight doesn't mean the vehicle can
For the wiring I have 2 different options, if you are going to be pulling a trailer without brakes that requires a 4 flat you want # 118449 (mounting bracket # 18144), if you are pulling a trailer with brakes and need a 7 way you want # 22119 (mounting bracket # PK12711U).
If you do not have a ball mount the etrailer Towing Kit # e83ZV would be a great choice. This kit even comes with your hitch pin and clip, a cover for the receiver when it's not in use, and even a nice etrailer storage bag.
I have also included some install videos so you can get a good idea of what you are getting yourself into.

Hey Robert, how did the setup with the hitch and wiring for your Highlander turn out? Did the towing kit give you everything you needed to get your trailer ready? Your update could make it easier for others adding a tow package to the same vehicle.
