Very easy to follow instruction for our 2025 Hyundai Sanota Limited Hybrid bike tow hitch. I did however cut the removable plastic body panel on the drivers side and put it back in place. It actually fits nice and looks great. As a safety precaution a used all four threader wires to get the bolts and plate into the body channel. I kept them on time but was ready to go on. Worked out well and I only damage one wire by pulling it off to get the first nut in place. Then move hutch around till all nuts came through then hand tightened the one nut. Went to opposite corners and removed the wires unscrewing them to save for later. After all four nuts were on I centered the hitch on the body rails and righted bolt by hand, finishing off with socket wrench and torque wrench. After putting the exhaust back I bust the body panel on drivers side to fit. Pictures enclosed.
This is probably the 5th Trailer hitch and wearing harness that I have ever purchased from E-trailer the quality of the E-trailer wearing harnesses and trailer hitches and Receiver are outstanding. I don't think any other company can match them in my opinion. Every hitch I have ordered, 2018 Jeep Cherokee, Prius-C, Two Priuses, and now a Hyundai Sonata. All Receiver hitches Have fit perfectly Without any modifications without any trouble that I Didn't need to do. My thanks to E-trailer. PS: I want to leave The thought that the videos on how to install a trailer hitch receiver are the greatest showing everything I need to know and make the process easy.
Vehicle - 2023 Sonata Hybrid SEL
I wish I paid attention to my total project time on this, but I assume around two hours from start to finish. Mainly, there wasn’t a single part of this installation that was overly difficult, it just took a bit of time to prep and lower exhaust, cut heat shielding to reinstall and trim the plastic panel to reinstall that. Fishing the bolts was far more simple than I expected, namely due to the real solid “fishing line” wires included. I am very satisfied with the results and have tested it so far only using a bike rack, so no towing experience yet. I used a pair of vehicle ramps which were fine, but getting under the car a bit easier would have made this job quicker.
The instructions stated that the rear trim panel and the heat shield should be removed and returned to the customer. It was honestly 5 extra minutes to cut a small piece of trim panel and install it back, the same for the heat shield. Removing the trim panel would expose a lot of dirt collection in the rear, also causing more noise and why completely remove the heat shield.
This seems wasteful and just taking the "easy" route for the installer, when the modification would take less than 5 minutes.
Other than that, very happy with the product so far.
