Brake Controller Recommendation for 2003 Lincoln Navigator

I have a 2002 Ford E-350 Cargo van and I had U-Haul install an electric brake controller two years ago. It appears the controller itself has failed and Id like to get one that I can transfer to a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with a 5.4L engine. Can you help?

Since trailer brake controllers are not vehicle-specific, I suggest the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 that you reviewed. This is among the most popular units we offer due to its ease of installation and use, and for its reliability. This controller will work with both electric and electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes.
If your Navigator has a factory 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper you will use Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3035-P to connect the controller unit to the vehicle's tow package wiring. This harness connects to an under-dash port. An installation video is linked for your reference, showing use in a 2005 Ford Expedition.
If the Navigator has only a factory flat 4-pole harness, you'll need in addition to the harness Hopkins connector # 37185. Your existing 4-pole will plug in to this part and you'll need to make additional connections to the existing wiring at your rear bumper. At minimum you'll need to connect to the Hopkins blue wire the vehicle wire that carries the brake controller's output signal. Please refer to the linked photo. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine which wire carries the brake output signal (by pressing the controller's manual override with your tester applied).
If your trailer needs a +12V power feed and a reverse light signal you'll also need to connect the vehicle wires for these functions to the leads identified in the photo.
