As I understand it, I need to preload axle nut to 30ft pounds to properly seat the nut. Then back off to 15. Follow by rotating nut counter clockwise for closest alignment and install cotter pin. My spindle straight not tappered. By all means, i want to install these hubs correctly. So Please advise if there is a better more correct way to seat the axle nut. Your help will be appreciated.

There is no specific torque setting for the axle nut with the # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K. Check out the installation video below starting at the 13 minute mark. The hub is overtightened at first to make sure everything is seated. Then he backs off the castle nut until it is loose. After that, tighten it back until you get a little bit of pressure and make sure there is no play. Then you will check your holes for your cotter pin. For the lug nuts you're going to have 8-14" wheels and this has 1/2" studs so it will be 75-85 ft.-lbs.
