For your Forest River RPod 171, I recommend using the:

-Thule HideAway Awning # TH490011.

This awning will bolt directly to the side of your sidewall on your trailer, and measures 9'10" long and is 8' wide.

A weight distribution system would be a great solution for your 2017 Forest River R-Pod 171 like with the Fastway e2 part #FA94-00-0600 which has sway control built into it and also has the correct tongue weight range.
