For your 2022 Buick Encore GX, you're going to need a high low adapter, a base plate, a tow bar, wiring a braking system, and safety cables.
Let's start with a base plate, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM32FR. This base plate creates a clean design when not in use and allow for quick connection and disconnection.
Next, you'll need a tow bar. For this, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520. This tow bar is capable of handling up to 6,000lbs, which is more than enough to tow your Buick Encore GX.
Following the tow bar, you'll need wiring. I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit includes everything needed for installation on your Encore GX, including a 7 way to 6 way cord. In some applications like yours, you'll need a battery disconnect switch # RM-766 when using a supplemental braking system. This is not always required, but for your vehicle it is.
To continue, we'll move on to your braking system. I recommend using the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. This system is a permanent installed and when installed, provides a clean look when not being used. You will also need to install a stop light switch # RM62FR to avoid damage to your braking system.
Finally, you'll need safety chains # DL20119 and a high low adapter # RM-070.

Hi Bryce - we just bought a used 2022 Buick Encore AWD and have the Blue Ox system for flat towing. I know all of the information says it needs to be a AWD, but it doesn't say that it must be in AWD when towing it. We guessed that was the case, so put it in neutral and AWD and towed that way. Do you happen to know if that is correct? It's a silly question but there is no hard and fast info out there to confirm it. Thank you.
