Measuring Bolt Pattern to Determine if 6 Lug Wheel Fits Trailer

Question:

Two things: ONE The information on the page where this tire/wheel combo is sold AM32684 is confusing where it describes how to determine the bolt pattern. We have old steel six-bolt wheels currently. If I measure center-to-center between two bolts that are directly ACROSS from each other, I get 5.5. So I would think I should order 6 on 5.5 wheels, which is what AM32684 is. BUT, If I measure center-to-center between two bolts that are NEXT to each other, I get 2 3/4, so would need to find 4 3/4inch wheels. Am I correct that the second measuring method is only for ODD 5-bolt wheels?? The info doesnt say so. TWO Do I need to order chrome lug nuts and center caps, and if so, which ones?

So your bolt pattern is 6 on 5-1/2 inch and I will agree that the info below is confusing for the product page of # AM32684 since this is a 6 bolt wheel and the info is only relevant for 5 lug wheels:

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I sent an update to have it removed or edited.

For chrome lug nuts and center cap you would need to order those separately. For the lugs part # 12CLN and for the center cap # 425EZ and you'd be set.
