Question:
I bought the Strombergcarlson Electric Tongue Jack a year ago, and was finally able to install it on the trailer a couple of days ago. I connected the power to a 30 amp 12v line on the a Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini RV panel. And was running power to the trailer from a Honda 2200 EU generator. The jack worked twice before it stopped. When I finally hitched the trailer to the truck and began raise the jack, the jack just stopped when it reached the top, and has never worked again. I check the fuses at both the panel and inline and both were still good. Any ideas? Thanks

I am sorry to hear about the functional issues you are having with your Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-3755.
Based on the issue you are describing I would first manually lower the jack a little bit to make sure it was not overextended. Being overextended would put too much strain on the motor and it would not be able to retract itself.
Next check that the star washers were placed between the trailer frame and the bottom of the mounting flange on the jack. These washers are used to provide the ground between the jack and the trailer, and not using them correctly would cause all sorts of weird issues.
If those first two check out then I recommend using a multimeter like the # PT89ZR to make sure you are getting a minimum of 10 volts to the jack while it is running. If you are not then you will need to wire the jack directly to a battery on the trailer and not through the converter panel.
I included a video of the # JET-3755 for you to take a look at.

Hi Samuel - follow up question, I did overextend or over retract rather - pulled it in passed the line where it says to stop retracting (accidentally). That’s when the power stopped working on mine. It worked a few times and then powered stopped after i over retracted it. I have since manually extended it but now power still doesn’t work. Is there a rest that needs to happen to get the power back? Thank you
