Question:
I need the drum/brake assembly for all 4 wheels. The inscribing on the outside of the hub reads Axletex, BD-655-00SZ G, 20060311. I would also like to know which hub I need to purchase in the event that the hubs are worn. And finally is there a electric brake line package that I could go ahead an rewire my brakes. The wiring runs in the inside of the axle and I believe the sheathing on the wiring inside the cable is exposed and causing one brake not to work. From that number you supplied, it appears you have axles that are 5,200-lb to 6,000-lb with a 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. For brake assemblies I recommend # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right hand side and # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left. This is a self-adjusting 12' brake assembly, mounting bolts and hardware, # BRKH12S sold separately.
If you do decide you need to replace the hub and drum assembly, I recommend, # AKHD-655-6-K. This is an etrailer replacement hub and drum assembly supplied by Axle Tek for 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb Axles with a 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and comes pre greased.
If needed, I recommend using 12-gauge wire, # 12-1-1, for the jumper wire and for additional ground wire. If you want to use duplex wire, you can use part # 10-2-1.
