Question:
Whats the difference between the 15123 and LM67048 outer bearing? Is one stronger than the other? Do they use the same or different race?

Expert Reply:
The short answer is Yes, bearing # 15123 is slightly larger and stronger than # LM67048 and they use different races which means they are not interchangeable.
Bearing 15123 uses race # 15245 which has an outer diameter of 2.441 inches and bearing LM67048 uses race # LM67010 which has an outer diameter of 2.328 inches. The size and strength differences are due to the fact that bearing # 15123 is used in a higher weight capacity hub. Bearing # 15123 is the outer bearing for a hub for a 6,000 lb axle and bearing # LM67048 is the outer bearing for a hub for a 5,200 lb axle.
There is a third bearing with the 1.25 inch inner diameter which is # 14125A. This bearing is larger and stronger than both # 15123 and # LM67048. It is the outer bearing for a hub for a 7,000 lb axle and uses race # 14276. I've attached video reviews of each bearing and a link to our entire trailer hub selection for you to check out.
