Replacement Thule 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Adapter For Thule Roadway Bike Rack
Question:
I have a circa 2009 Thule 4-Bike Rack, I dont know the model name. The measurements on this sleeve seem to match up to the stinger on my Thule rack. I like the fact that this sleeve, unlike the wide variety of other options, has a second hole to attach it to the stinger and my stinger has a hole for that. It seems like it would be a pain having to try to get a loose sleeve into the right place when installing the rack. My question is, since I dont know the model number, anything I should be thinking about before I order it and try it out?

Thanks so much for the photos, they were very helpful, and based on that and the fact you mentioned it was from 2009, I am almost certain that what you have there is the Thule Roadway 914 bike rack. We do in fact have the correct 1-1/4" to 2" adapter for the Roadway 914:
- Thule Replacement Aluminum Shank Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" # 853-7292
This does have two holes to attach it to the shank/stinger, is 10" long, and measures 1-9/16" to the center of the hitch pin hole. That is a similar hitch pin hole measurement but quite a bit longer than the 4-1/4"long Replacement 2" Hitch Adapter for Thule Doubletrack, Hitching Post Pro, or Vertex Racks # 853-7489
I can't guarantee the # 853-7489 will work as the correct replacement as it is for later models of Thule rack, so instead I do recommend going with the # 853-7292.
With either, if you need the set screw for install, the correct part is the Replacement M6 x 16mm Flat Cap Screw for Thule Bike Carriers # 853-5787-02.
