Comparing the Yakima FullSwing with the Thule Apex Swing
Question:
I have read that these two models are very comparable. However, I have also read bad reviews that the Apex 9027 does not fit snugly into a 2inch hitch receiver. Is this true? Does the Yakima have a better fit? Thanks much

The Thule Apex Swing 4 Bike Rack (discontinued), and the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Swinging, # Y02465, are both very nice bike racks. I haven't heard any issues with either one regarding a snug fit. Both have quick install pins and anti-rattle integrated with a knob. The systems work differently, but we haven't had any issues with any of our test fits including the road handling tests. Both systems have provided a secure connection at the hitch receiver.
If I were to choose one over the other based on the anti-rattle and hitch fit design, I think the Yakima FullSwing has a much better fit in the receiver, which I know is a big concern of yours. The Yakima has a 2 inch shank receiver versus the 1-1/4 with 2 inch adapter. This will give it added strength, less vibration, and better overall durability. It would also edge out the Thule Apex based on additional weight capacity. I recommend the Yakima FullSwing in this comparison.
