Mounting Rear Bike Rack on Freedom Express 192RBS

Question:

I have a 2020 Coachman Freedom Express Ultra Lite 192RBS which has a 4x4 bumper. I plan on mounting the CURT 19100 Camper RV Bumper Hitch and mount a Kuat 2 bike rack which weights 44 lbs. With two bikes mounted the total weight of rack and bikes will be about 165 lb. I believe this bumper should be able to handle this minimal weight that I will be carrying. The rack has a built in locking device to keep the rack and bikes from bouncing around also. Do you see any issues with this setup?

You should contact Coachman and ask how many pounds their rear bumpers are rated for. Most are not rated for any weight. Small trailer bumpers are notorious for falling off as you travel down the road if loaded. IF it is rated for a few hundred pounds of tongue/verticle weight, then the Curt # E-100 bumper receiver would be a good fit.

Next, most bike racks are not rate strong enough for use the the back of a travel trailer where they get tremendous bouncing forces. I have included links with the choices. I would take a look at the RockyMounts # RKY10004 for a rack that is similar to the Kuat 2.

The Swagman # S80501 is an interesting option that side-steps the need for the Curt # E-100
