Troubleshooting 2012 Jeep Liberty Factory 7-Way Wiring Connector

Question:

Hi, I got my 7 pin harness connector tested and it indicated only 2 lights were on with tester. As a result, the jet ski trailer 4 pin has the brake lights constantly on. The 7 pin adapter tester indicates only the brake light is reaching the 7 pin harness, prior to trailer. What part is causing this problem, and how can i repair/replace? Is it a fuse, a module, controller, etc? Where on the vehicle would the part be located? Thank you

For your 2012 Jeep Liberty with factory 7-way, I recommend checking your fuses. The mini fuses M2, M4, and M14 fuses are all possible issues according to your owner's manual so I recommend starting there. If that doesn't solve the issue, then I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test wires and trace them to determine if there is a short.

It definitely sounds like the issue is on the vehicle side, so using a circuit tester to find the issue is needed if the fuses aren't an easy solution.

I have the same issue going on the brake light stays on the whole time and out of nowhere. Nothing turns on no signal light no nothing as I connected Jessica trailer to another vehicle. Everything works, but not on the jeep. I’ve already changed the fuel fuel this on the on the box everything and nothing is working

@George If you've followed the steps Jason mentioned above and you've changed fuses and such out then your next step is to get a second set of eyes on your Jeep. Either have a friend look at it or have a shop look at so they can see if there is anything out of place as well.
