Installing On/Off Switch for Backup Camera Observation System
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Where does the backup power cable connect. The camera is always on and I want to install a switch as recommended in the instruction manual for the Furrion backup camera FOS48TA-Bl. When I pull the fuse that powers the garage and one outside light the camera is off also so at least I know it is attached somewhere in that circuit. I checked the closest inside garage light and did not find the connection to the backup camera. I do want to have it powered on while traveling so I can monitor the traffic behind me.

Since you want to use the Furrion Digital Wireless Observation System when traveling, the best option is normally to wire the camera into your running lights. If you wish add a switch like # PK34513 or # D16740 in line you can simply run that power wire to the battery instead. Unfortunately I don't know where the junction is on your specific trailer, so you will need to trace that wire at least to where you would like to add the switch.
If you don't already have the Furrion System, I recommend # FOS43TASF which is their updated option.
