Question:
I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. This will be towed behind a RV. I like the idea of: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, but it says the battery needs to be disconnected. Would I still be able to use a: Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System - Proportional - BLU37TR? or Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System - RM-8700 Of the two above braking systems which would you recommend for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler?

Yes, either braking system will work. Both the Blue Ox Patriot, Item # BLU37TR, and the Roadmaster InvisiBrake System, Item # RM-8700, are good options. Both will need power connections so you can connect the Patriot with a 12V Outlet Kit like Item # RM-9332 and the InvisiBrake will connect directly to the battery.
Of the two, I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake System, Item # RM-8700, because it is a one-time install and then you are good to go.
Because you will need to disconnect your battery, I recommend installing the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch, Item # RM-766, to make this easier.
You may already have these but you will need several items to flat tow your 2009 Jeep Wrangler: base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring, maybe a high-low hitch adapter, and a braking system (like what we discussed above).
For your 2009 Jeep Wrangler if it is equipped with a standard factory bumper, I recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate, Item # 1429-1, because it is designed for your vehicle. It also has twistlock brackets that are virtually invisible and can be removed. If a different style of bumper then let me know which type and I can recommend correct base plates.
The Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar, Item # RM-576, is a great choice that fits the Roadmaster XL Base Plate and the safety cables are included.
For lighting, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit, Item # RM-15267, that will use your vehicle's tail lights and also includes 7-wire to 6-wire coiled electrical cord. If you want to keep your lighting separate then you will need a Wire Converter, Item # 118158, and 2 additional Diodes, Item # RM-792.
A high-low hitch adapter may also be needed to keep your tow bar level while flat towing the Jeep. A "safe zone" of 3 inches above or 3 inches below level must be maintained while towing a vehicle. High-low adapters provide necessary rise or drop to get into the "safe zone". I have attached a link to our available selections.
For brakes, as I mentioned earlier, I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake System, Item # RM-8700, because of the one time set-up. You will also need a Stop Light Switch, Item # RM-751452, for everything to work properly.
Before flat towing your 2009 Jeep Wrangler, check your vehicle owner's manual for suggestions and recommendations.
I have attached additional information and videos for you to checkout to help you with your towing project.
