Question:
I have a roadmater tow bare and have towed a GMC 2500 pickup, a G6 pontiac and a 14 equinox. I now want to tow a 2011 G37S convertable and need a base plate to fit. And a guess as to how long it would take to install.

I checked the owner's manual for the 2011 Infiniti G37S and it states that if the vehicle has an automatic transmission then it must be placed on a dolly; specifically the drive wheels (rear wheels on those cars) must be on the dolly. We have some dollies but none that will work with the large diameter wheels on your G37S.
If your G37S has the manual transmission then it can be flat towed by following these rules:
Always tow with the manual transmission in Neutral. Your vehicle speed should never exceed 70
MPH (112 km/h) when flat towing your vehicle. After towing 500 miles, start and idle the engine with the transmission in Neutral for two minutes. Failure to idle the engine after every 500 miles of towing may cause damage to the transmission’s internal parts.
The only base plates available for the G37 are from Blue Ox, # BX1842. I checked with Blue Ox and they estimate that it will take a trained installer about 3 hours to perform the installation. Since you have a Roadmaster tow bar you will need an adapter to connect to the base plates. Adapter # RM-031 fits the Roadmaster Blackhawk, Falcon, and some Sterling tow bars. If you have a different tow bar and there isn't an adapter for it then you would need a Blue Ox tow bar such as the Alpha # BX7380.
Since you have flat towed several different vehicles in the past I am willing to bet that you already have safety cables. If not you can use # RM-643 if you can use your tow bar. If you have to get the Alpha tow bar it already comes with safety cables.
I don't know how you are fixed for lighting. If you already have a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120 then you could use that. If you want a more permanent solution the diode kit # RM-154 is popular.
If you have a portable braking system from your other flat towing set ups you could use it for supplemental braking. Or if you do not have a system I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This is one of our install team's favorites because it works well and is easier to install than some of the similar options.
You may also need a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have included a link to a help article that explains how to measure to determine the size adapter needed, if any. Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
