Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport
Question:
I have a 2017 Tuscon Sport 1.6T with a hitch that I believe I purchased thru etrailer and had asked Hyundai Dealership to purchase and install the wiring harness — they gave me a song and dance about how the hitch and wiring harness had to be purchased at the same time and had to be from Hyundai — 650 bucks installed — I told them they need to stop smoking crack. Are there any issues with the aftermarket wiring harness products that would: 1 void any warranty I have this vehicle is leased or 2 could create problems down the road ?

I think you gave them solid advice...but as far as if a trailer hitch will void the warranty that answer is no. When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. I recommend looking it up online.
For a hitch I would recommend the Draw Tite part # 75836 which is a confirmed fit and would work well. The price is great too.
For trailer wiring you then would also want the part # 118501 that you referenced which is a confirmed fit.
I attached install videos for both of these for you to check out as well.
