Can International 4400 Tow Trailer with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Im trying to find out if there is a way to set up my 2007 International 4400 air brake truck with a 5th wheel hitch to tow my gooseneck hitch electric over hydraulic trailer. My gooseneck is heavy - pushing 30k lbs. It has a 7 -way round pin connector on the gooseneck im thinking an adapter would work here if it doesnt tip the trailer too much. My International does not have a trailer brake controller. Is there an option that will make everything work together? Any hope of installing a trailer brake controller myself? Thank you!

Basically you would need to install a brake controller with electric over hydraulic compatibility and a 7-way wired properly and you would be able to accomplish what you are trying to do. The P3 part # 90195 would be a great option that is compatible with that brake style and is one of our best selling controllers because of how well it works.
For a vehicle side 7-way we have the part # HM48480 that would need to get wired to your vehicle according to the diagram I attached
