Hi I have a 94 ford explorer limited edition and I have the connector under my bumper that looks like part #118241 will fit but I dont see anything that says it will work. Will that specific part work for my vehicle?

I called my contact at the manufacturer and the connector you sent the photo of sure looks like the mate for the Tow Package Wiring Harness, part # 118241. Since the # 118241 was designed to fit Explorers from 1995 and up, they may possibly have used the connector earlier. You can do some testing of the wires to see if this will work.
You will need a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. Test the pins I have noted on the attached photo. Have someone sit in the front and run through the functions while you test the pins. If you get the correct power showing on the connector, then I am sure the # 118241 will work great for you.
If you do not show current at the noted pins, then I recommend using a trailer wiring harness like part # C59236.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
