Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the custom dash pod. This is going to be so you can mount up your edge monitor in your 2004 through 2008 Ford F-150 and have that nice factory look to it. So this is going to be custom molded to fit right along with your dash. There's going to be a specific spot for this, it is lined out in the instructions.And then it comes with a little metal tab with some self or double-sided tape, that's going to fit in this little slot here.
It's kind of carved into the side. So we'll just line that up there and that should hold it in place. And then we'll also have two pieces of kind of hook material that sticks to itself. So you can also use that to keep everything nice and secure on your piece here. But it does have a custom molded design so it should keep everything well within your eyeline as you're driving down the road.
So you don't have to look or strain your neck too much to see what's going on with your monitor, but then it still looks like it's part of the overall dash for your F150.This can be painted to match your interior. As you can see it's kind of a gray color now, so you can paint that to match with whatever color that you might have. It's pretty easy to install as I said with those two tabs, whenever it comes to getting your monitor in there, you can actually take this piece out, there's just a rubber boot going around the outside.So I can pull this out. The plastic piece on the inside can be pulled out just on its own. If you want to take out the rubber piece, just kind of can push that through from the back and it pops right out.
So makes it a little easier maybe to mount your actual monitor in place by taking it out of the housing there first.So up to you, but should be pretty easy to get that all installed in place and then should look pretty nice and slick once you have it in there. Did I push back down in there There we go.I'm going to give you some rough measurements just to see how large this piece is. So roughly from side to side is about six inches wide, maybe a little bit less, more like five and three quarters of an inch. Front to back, it's about at the longest seven and three quarter inches long. And kind of hard to say, maybe about four and a half, five inches tall, maybe about four and a half a little bit closer to that.So it should be a nice addition to your truck, to get everything mounted up and look like it should be there.

This fit so well and the color was very close. This is going to look great and will position the tuner perfectly.

Excellent help from Gwen, very courteous and knowledgeable which made my decision easier.
Received my Evolution Edge CS2 (Gas), download file to unit (2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7l), installed the tuner in my truck and within 15 minutes it was all done.
I have tuned the truck to Level 4 (performance) made a big noticeable difference and turned off the MDS ...
I mainly bought the unit for the extra HP and Torque to pull my 5th wheel, we are taking it this week on vacation so I'll get a better idea and feeling on the Towing tune.
Fingers crossed. Oh here is a pic of the unit with the dash mount ... looks great !

This was installed in a ‘13 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab. Install was easy and took about 10-15 min and only required a 10mm socket and a screw driver. Fit is perfect and seamless. No need to paint in this application because it was already a perfect match. Looks as if the truck came from the factory with this installed and a much better, sturdier option than the windshield suction cup mount that comes with the tuner.

Just got programmer installed with dash pod, I haven't driven for any amount of time with the programmer running, but the programmer was easy to set up. It has a ton of functions to customize programming, I'm looking forward to using for towing 33 ft fifth wheel. The installation was fairly easy on an 03 GMC Sierra.

Installed within 5-10 minutes. Fit Perfectly, on edge products website it says this fits 2500 cummins but through the forums I read it would work on the 1500 Rams also, and it did! Fit Perfectly on my 2014 1500 Ram EcoDiesel to Mount my Edge CTS2.

Awesome dash pod. I used this on my 4th Gen Ram 1500 to mount led bar light switches. Fits the 1500 perfectly.
