    • Perfect for use in an enclosed trailer with a thin wall or floor
  • Multiple pre-drilled holes make plates compatible with horizontal or vertical E-tracks
  • Galvanized steel construction is strong and corrosion resistant

  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 backing plates
  • Dimensions (each): 6" long x 6" wide x 1/8" thick
  • 4-Bolt mounting pattern: 4-1/2" x 4"
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: The included hardware lets you mount your E-track on surfaces up to 2" thick.

Product Dimensions

These backing plates provide more support for your E-track (sold separately) than only using wood or metal screws. Simply put, they allow the pulling force to be distributed over a greater area. This prevents your mower, ATV, or other heavy object from pulling your E-track away from its mounting surface and tearing up your trailer's wall or floor. They're perfect for trailers with thin walls or floors.

Pre-Drilled Holes

Product Dimensions

Pre-drilled holes accommodate the standard 4-bolt mounting pattern found on most horizontal or vertical E-tracks. There are also holes to accommodate D-rings, Snap-Locs, and odd-shaped tie-down anchors.

Simple, Bolt-On Installation

Installed

To install, drill pilot holes in your mounting surface as close as you can to each end of your E-track and directly in the middle so that the plates will be evenly spaced. Place your E-track where you're mounting it and insert the included bolts. On the opposite side of your wall or floor, place the plates over the bolts and secure them using the included washers and nylon lock nuts.

  • Mounting Suggestion For E-track To Aluminum Utility Trailer
For your Aluma 6810 HBT trailer, I recommend the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long - Qty 1 # E19148 along with the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6" Long x 6" Wide # e96RR. This will save you the expense of the dual track and will allow you the flexibility of plates between the braces or around them. This track also comes in 4 foot # EM19147, and 2 foot # EM59150. I recommend using the E-Track Plastic End Cap # ET8730 to finish your tracks. For...

  • Can E-Track be Installed in Car Hauler for Multiple Car Widths
You can install the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 in any manner you like, so for a car hauler that has cars of different widths you can place E-track side-by-side, as you can see one of our customers did in the accompanying photo. This E-track is only 5-1/8" wide so you can install numerous different tracks to meet as many widths as possible. For additional support I do recommend using the E-Track Backing Plate # BPEZ during your install. This would be the best option and then you...

  • How Does Smart Fortwo Get Secured to Aluma Trailer Using E-Tracks
I attached the picture I believe you were referencing for securing a Smart car too a Aluma trailer using E-track. The straps used in the picture are the Erickson Adjustable Wheel Net with E-Track Fittings # 77314 which basically just snap into place into the slots of the E-tracks and then the ratchet tightens the straps to the tires. I also attached a second picture that shows a closer angle for you to check out to see more. We also have wheel chocks that fit into e-track as well that would...

  • Should E-Track Be Attached to Trailer Frame for Installation
When installing an E-track, such as # E19148, it is always best to attach the track to the trailer's main structural components, such as the frame, when possible. The frame will provide the best support for the system. The E-Track Baking Plate # e96RR works well to help reinforce the E-track when the frame is not located in the area where you need to install your E-track. The installation process for the E-track can vary on a trailer to trailer and cargo to cargo basis. To be sure your...

  • Installing E-Track on Trailer Deck for UTV
Hi John; personally I would use the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates # e96RR or # e66RR to secure the etrailer Horizontal E Track # e62VR. My next choice would be the bolts and washers, screws after that if you really want to go that route. It will be fine to secure a piece of track to a single board or to split it. I would go with whatever works best for your spacing with your UTV there.

  • Can E-Track Be Used To Secure a Car in a Trailer?
Yes, you can use Erickson Horizontal E-Track item # E19148 as front straps to hold down a car. These tracks have a 2,000 lbs maximum capacity per track. You will want to use the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates w/ Hardware item # e96RR for mounting. The included hardware lets you mount your E-track on surfaces up to 2" thick. To strap your car down you will want to use the Erickson E-Track Wheel Tie-Down Strap with Roller Idler and Ratchet item # EM58523.

  • Backing Plates For The Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit
Erickson has the spacing for the mounting holes of the # EM09160 before and after the chock at approximately 4-3/8" center to center. Since they unfortunately do not offer a custom backing plate the # e96RR you purchased is going to be the closest option. The elongated front and rear holes are 4-1/2" apart center to center so you could possibly get it to line up straight and fit but you'll likely need to notch either the front or back hole about 1/8" to get the bolts to drop through.

  • Backing Plate for Use with Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit EM09160
Erickson does offer a zinc-plated steel backing plate for use with their E-Track products like their ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160. Use part # e96RR. You can see this item's hole dimensions and spacing in the linked photo. Since your trailer deck is aluminum and this plate is steel you will want to isolate them to prevent galvanic corrosion between the two different metals. A coating of paint or other insulating material will do it.

  • Recommended E-Track Mounting on Aluminum Frame Trailer
The Zinc Sheet Metal Screw - 8 x 3/4" Indented Hex Washer Head - Hex Slotted Drive # 31071 are a good choice for your wall studs, but not for your 3/4 inch wood floors. The zinc coating on both the E-track # E19148 and the screws will prevent galvanic corrosion from the dissimilar metals of steel and aluminum. For your floors, I recommend using zinc plated screws along with locknuts to secure your bikes using backing plate # e96RR. You can obtain that hardware from your local hardware...

  • Can Etrack Be Used with Aluminum Trailer
E-Track like # E19148 is zinc-coated steel and since the trailer is aluminum you would want to paint the bottom of the E-Track. Otherwise the dissimilar metals can cause corrosion to start. Be sure to also consider the fasteners used. Zinc-coated fasteners could be used but you will want to spray some paint in the areas there the fasteners are under the trailer. Best option would probably be to use a backing plate like part # e96RR to secure the tracks as this is steel and steel hardware...

  • How to Attach E-Tracks to a Wooden Trailer Floor
I don't recommend drilling through the steel crossmembers to install your Horizontal E-Track item # E19148. This will put holes in the steel that can collect moisture and cause rusting. Plus that would be a lot of effort and you'll probably go through a couple of drill bits. You will also encounter galvanic corrosion when doing this. It's corrosion that is caused when you put two different metals together. A way better option is to avoid the steel crossmembers and just drill through the...

  • How to Attach E-Tracks to Cargo Trailer Walls
When attaching e-tracks like the part # E19148 typically people run the bolts through the track, then through the wall or floor they are attaching the track to, through the backing plate like part # e96RR, and then finally the nuts get threaded onto the bolts. For a cargo trailer wall application though you might just use appropriately sized wood screws through all of the mounting holes to attach to the support beams of the trailer walls.

  • Installation Recommendations For E-Track Horizontal Track System In Trailer With 2x6 Floor
The Erickson Horizontal E-Track, part # E19148 has 1/4 inch diameter mounting holes spaced 2 inches apart. The screws you use should be at least long enough to go 3/4 inch into the wood you are mounting the track to. The more screws you use the more secure the track will be. Usually, wood screws are used and should have at lease 3/4 inches of material to fasten to, so it sounds like you have that covered. The best way to mount the track is to use the E-Track backing plate, part # e96RR....

  • Installing E-Track to Metal Floor of Car Hauler
There isn't a set rule, but I'd recommend bolting the e-track into place. The distance between fasteners will depend on the nature and structure of the floor of your trailer. If the metal floor has a sturdy wood backing, I'd attach the e track about every 6 inches or so, making sure that some of the fasteners are going into the frame members of the trailer if possible. Using backing plates like part # e96RR would be a good idea, as well.

  • What Is the Weigh Capacity Of the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets 3481744
There is not a listed weight capacity for the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets part # 3481744 because much of this comes from how you attach the tracks that these brackets fit in. That said, I don't think you will have any issues using this as a fold out bed for say a 250 lb person so long as the tracks are attached securely. If you need to further secure the tracks to bear more weight you can use backing plates, part # e96RR.

  • Vertical Etrack Mounting on a Thin Stud Recommendations
Installing the Etracks vertically in the way you described could work depending on how much weight the etracks would be supporting. I think the 2x6 idea would also work, but since you are concerned that would be too much weight you could split the difference and go with a lighter board like a piece of thicker plywood. You could attach the plywood to the stud and then the etrack to the plywood. Another option would be to get the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR.

  • Mounting Erickson E-Tracks to 3/8 Inch Plywood or Vinyl Covered Walls
To mount Erickson E-Tracks like the 4 Foot Long # EM19147 that you are looking at you will want to use 1/4 inch diameter screws/bolts. The length is entirely dependent on the application but for 3/8 inch plywood I really recommend first securing the plywood to the trailer frame in as many points a possible (if not already done so). You can also remove plywood from the areas you plan on installing the E-Track and reinforce the back of the plywood with a mounting plate like # e96RR. You...

  • Where to Install E-Tracks in Enclosed Trailer Carrying Polaris ATV and Motorcycles
Since you will be using your E-Track system, part # E19148, for transporting more than one type of vehicle, you will want to try to find mounting locations that will work for all of them. The main consideration for deciding where to mount the E-Tracks is to select locations that provide access to structural components, such as wall studs and floor supports. These structural elements of your trailer will serve as the backbone of your E-Track system. It is important that the tracks mount...

  • E Track Mounting Recommendations
Absolutely, you can mount E track just about anywhere it will fit. We had a customer send in a picture of his E track mounted sided to side on his trailer so the pressure is across all the decking instead of just one board. You can check out the pictured I linked. I recommend using E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR when installing E track. The backing plate reinforces and improves the tie-down support of your E-track system by mounting to the opposite side of the E track (essentially sandwiching...

  • How To Attach the Erickson Horizontal E-Tracks To Wood Deck Boards
In order to attach the deck boards to your open trailer, I recommend using 1/2" carriage bolts. These carriage bolts can be either zinc plated or made of stainless steel. They will need to run though both the deck board and trailer frame. In order to then attach the Erickson Horizontal E-Track part # EM59150 so you can use the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit w/ Ratchet Straps and Wheel Chocks part # EM09160, I recommend using standard grade 5 or higher 1/4" hex head bolts along with the...

  • Attaching E-Track to Wooden Trailer Floor
Ideally, you'll want some of the hardware attaching the e-track to the trailer floor to also secure to the cross members as well as to the planks that make up the trailer floor. If that's not possible, I'd recommend using a backer plate like # e96RR every two feet or so and through bolting the e-track all the way through the trailer floor and through the backer plate. Long story short, as long as some of the fasteners are connecting to the trailer frame or cross-members or a backer plate,...

  • How to Mount E-Track Cargo Control System E19148 To Inside Wall of Enclosed Trailer
The Erickson E-Track Trailer Cargo Control tracks, part # E19148, are intended to mount to the structural components of a trailer. • Can E-Track Be Installed Over Rubber Non-Ski Covering On Wood Floor in Trailer
You should really attach E-Track directly to the wood floor of the trailer by trimming the rubber covering in the area you want to mount the track. Also I recommend using several E-track backing plates, # e96RR, under the wood floor so that the force applied to the wood floor is spread out over a wider area. this will help prevent the E-track from pulling out when a load is pulling on it.
