Installing E-Track on Trailer Deck for UTV

Updated 10/02/2025 | Published 10/01/2025

Question:

in regards to securement of the etrack to the trailer deck for a UTV weighing 2022 LBS, is it: 1 best to go with a bolt washer nut combo or screws? 2 when placing the track should this straddle a seam AKA split the load on two planks vs one track on one plank?

Hi John; personally I would use the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates # e96RR or # e66RR to secure the etrailer Horizontal E Track # e62VR. My next choice would be the bolts and washers, screws after that if you really want to go that route. It will be fine to secure a piece of track to a single board or to split it. I would go with whatever works best for your spacing with your UTV there.

the plates would prob work best, is there any recommended quantity of plates per length of track? i figure 4 tracks at 6 foot each, possibly three plates per tract front mid and rear. Or is there a recommended plate per foot "rule/best practices"?

@JohnM we actually have a table a little further down on the # e62VR page which shows the part number for backing plates depending on the track kit you get. I wasn't sure if you were getting this exact set of E tracks or if you simply came off of that particular page. For the four 94" long tracks the # e76YR is recommended. If you're getting a different set you can reference that table. I don't have a way to add an extra picture of it here or I would.
