How do you measure the rise? From where to where?

I pulled one of the Curt Hitch Balls, part # C40087 from our warehouse and took a couple of measurements for you. I have attached a photo of the hitch ball with the dimensions noted.
As the photo shows, the 2 inches is measured from the top of the shank to the edge of the hitch ball body at the point it starts to flare. This is a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball and the shank diameter is 1-1/4 inches and 2-5/8 inches long. this hitch ball has a capacity of 25,000 lbs.
