Hey Rebecca!

Yes, the Replacement Lift Motor # FVK6010-81 will work as a replacement for your older Fan-Tastic Vent 6050-05 lift motor.

The replacement operates at 17 RPM, so it may open and close your vent faster than the original. Since yours is an older model, you'll also likely need to reverse the wiring connections (red to black and black to red) for proper operation. Otherwise the lift motor would run in reverse compared to the buttons.

Let me know if you need anything else! What kind of travel trailer / RV is this going in?

This motor, though too expensive, is a good replacement. The only real issue is that the gear with internal teeth is notorious for stripping. The power needed to open the vent is more than the motor gear can handle with repeated use. To get around this design failure is not to open and close the vent too often. The more you use it the more expensive it will be. If just the gear on the motor were reworked to be replaced it would save over $60.00 every time it failed. I've replaced my mid bath motor more than 6 times. I don't raise and lower it too often anymore. Be very attentive to positioning the arm when installing the motor. Follow the online directions exactly so that the resting point is properly alligned in the rotation cycle. Good luck.

It works just fine. Much cheaper than having to replace the whole fan.
