Question:

I have a Brinkley G 4000 5th wheel toy hauler 2024. Looking for leaf springs have 7000 LBS axles three of them. Brinkley sent me a part for what is on the trailer. Dexter 072-079-01. I do not want this I need a best set you got can you help me.

Hey Joe, thanks for the information! To replace your Dexter 072-079-01 leaf springs, I recommend the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles item # EM28AJ. This is a 4,000 lbs leaf spring designed for 8,000 lbs axles. It's got 7-leafs and measures 24-7/8" from the mounting holes.

The Emco item # EM28AJ is made in the USA. It's constructed of high carbon steel, which provides great shock absorption. They include nylon bushings which last longer and reduced noise. This leaf spring is sold individually.

When you swap out your leaf springs, you'll also want to switch out your hardware as those suspension bolts are only meant to be torqued down once. You'll want to pick a kit with the closest size to your current shackle straps.

The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR86ZR is for 2-1/4" shackles or item # MR26ZR is for 3-1/8" shackles. These kits come with the bronze bushings, wet bolts and shackle straps.

Jerred, why would you recommend something with nylon bushings in this case? The stock springs have brass bushings in them.

@Anthony Nylon bushings come with all of our replacement leaf springs from the suppliers. I am not aware of a brand of replacement springs that come with brass bushings. The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit item # MR86ZR and item # MR26ZR come with brass bushings that replace the nylon ones. When you replace the leaf springs, it's highly recommend to replace the suspension bolts because they're only meant to be torqued down once.
