Question:
I have a 2022 forest river cardinal red with a rhino 5th wheel box and a bolt on gooseneck adapter. I have 7 inch clearance on 2025 f350 single wheel short bed. Im looking for a gen y to do away with the adapter but not lose any clearance and possibly longer hitch for a better turning radius.

Hey Douglas! The correct Gen-Y gooseneck pin box for your 2022 Forest River Cardinal Red is the # GY33GR. This fits the Rhino bolt pattern and is rated for trailers with a GVWR of 7,275-16,360 lbs. You will also need safety chains # GY49GR to complete the setup.
The pin box won't be any longer since it is designed around the geometry of the original Rhino Box. These replacements typically keep the same specs so you don't run into any issues with the frame. If your 2025 F-350 has the prep package you can add the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ford OEM Puck Systems # GY43XR with a 5" offset for extra clearance.
Any big trips planned once you upgrade your pin box?

Thank you very much. I'll get the setup ordered directly. I have heard great things about gen-y. Yes we have an 8 hour pull planned for July. Thanks again

We have a ‘22 Vanleigh Vilano with GVWR of 18.5k. We also have the Rhino pin box. We removed the stock Flexair roto-flex pin box and replaced with the Gen Y hitch. We were able to lower the gen-y by one set of goes during install which gave us 8” when couple to the B&W ball set in the Ram 3500 puck system.
