Parts Needed for Jeep Wrangler Towed by Motorhome that Had Demco Air Force One Installed

Question:
I purchased a Tiffin Breeze that already has the RV side Air Force 1 installed. To set up my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Willys for Air Force 1 would I just need the Second Vehicle Kit? Also, is there a way to test the install on the motorhome to verify it is working properly prior to setting up the Jeep?

Hey Ed, welcome back! You are definitely on the right track as what you need is Demco Air Force One Second Vehicle Kit part # SM99209. This comes with all of the parts you a missing and would be exactly what you need to get your flat tow setup on the road!
A qualified RV air-brake technician can inspect the existing Air Force One plumbing and connect an appropriate pressure gauge/test fitting to the rear air connection. This allows them to verify that the system supplies air when the motorhome's service brakes are applied, releases that pressure when the brakes are released, and has no leaks or abnormal air-pressure loss.
Because this connects to the motorhome's air-brake system, I recommend having a qualified technician perform that test rather than opening or modifying any pressurized connections yourself.
One important distinction: This verifies the coach-side air supply and control operation, but you won't be able to perform Demco's complete functional test until the Jeep's braking system is installed.

Is there a car kit that includes the Wireless Coachlink Braking Monitor? We have a cover to protect our Jeep windshield which would make it difficult to place the led indicator in a position to be seen.

If your coach already has an air fitting by the hitch, all you should need is the second vehicle kit. You will need to provide your own air jumper hose, with whatever fittings are needed to match up to the coach. Our Newell had a larger air fitting than what came with the kit; I called the Newell factory and they overnighted two fittings. Testing? As I understand it, the unit self-adjusts, so I did nothing. For the first several stops, I checked the brakes on the tow vehicle; the rotors were warm, but not hot, which indicated that the brakes were being applied appropriately. Good luck with your towing! Once you use the AF1 system you will never go back to one of those clumsy floor-mounted units again!
