Hitch Installation Issues on 2024 Hyundai Ioniq

Updated 10/05/2026 | Published 10/04/2026

Question:

I received my trailer hitch for my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Curt 13520 and the installation pictures dont look anything like my car. Its the AWD version so the mounts may be different from the RWD version ?. I loosely assembled the mounting brackets and lifted the hitch based on the final installation picture, and there was nothing above to mount to. I can send a picture if that helps.

Thanks for letting us help Scott. I see that you purchased the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C98DR which is a confirmed fit for your 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5. I reviewed our website, the manufacturer's website, as well as the installation instructions and there are no fitment considerations listed in regards to drivetrain. We do have an installation video for the # C98DR on a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 which I will link. There is a trim piece that will need to be removed right under the bumper and our installer also removed the main underbody panel to make the install a bit easier. Around the 4:45 mark he discusses the side specific mounting brackets and it does appear the mounting holes are tucked in there pretty well. I would refer to this section of the video to aid you in locating them. If you are still having issues after watching the video and would like to forward the photos you referenced, I'd be happy to take a look at them.

What are your plans for the receiver one installed on your Ioniq?

Thanks. It s partially hidden by the wheel well cover. Installation would have been easier without working around the wheel well but I couldn't see any way way of reminding it

@ScottL That was actually mentioned in the video as well. Glad you were able to work through it and get it installed.
