Is this baseplate compatible with Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard brackets?

Thanks for letting us help, Otto. For Roadmaster Direct-Connect style base plates like # RM97NQ, the correct Roadmaster Guardian is the Roadmaster Guardian XL Rock Shield # RM82DQ. The original Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000 is designed for crossbar-style base plates and will not work with a Direct-Connect setup.
Do you already have a Guardian and only need the second vehicle mounting brackets? We currently carry the Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard for Towed Vehicles - 2nd Vehicle Kit # RM-4000-1, but this kit is specifically for the original Guardian # RM-4000 and is not designed for Direct Connect base plates.
We do not currently carry the second-vehicle kit for the Guardian XL # RM82DQ, but I'd be happy to look into getting it added to our site if that's the part you need.

Thank you sir. Sold my towed cross bar mounted base plate years ago and trying to repurpose 4000 rock shield. Don’t want to install a crossbar on my 2026 when direct connect system is so user friendly. Will take a look at XL mounting system and see if similar mounts can be fabricated for my needs. Thank you.
