Question:
Hi, I have a 2020 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS fifth wheel with tandem Dexter 5,200 lb axles. The axle label shows: * Dexter model: D52 * Capacity: 5,200 lb * Serial number: 131171601 * Build date: 05/21/2019 * Brakes: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust forward self-adjusting electric brakes I am planning to remove the hubs, inspect everything, and repack the wheel bearings. Since this is my first time doing this, I want to have the correct replacement parts on hand before I start. Can you please confirm the exact parts for this axle, including: * Inner bearing and race * Outer bearing and race * Grease seal * Complete hub/drum assembly * Complete left- and right-hand Nev-R-Adjust brake assemblies * Any bearing kit that includes the correct bearings, races, seal, and cotter/retainer hardware I believe the likely bearing setup may be 25580 inner / 15123 outer with a 10-36 seal, but I would like that confirmed from the axle serial number rather than relying on assumptions. Also, if there are different hub or seal configurations used on this 5,200 lb axle, please let me know exactly which one applies to serial number 131171601. My goal is to have enough parts on hand to replace a damaged bearing, race, seal, brake assembly, or hub if I discover a problem during inspection. Thanks.

Hey Mike, welcome back! Thanks for all of the info you listed from your Grand Design. Based on that and fact you have 5,200 lb axles the correct bearing kit would be the part # BK3-300 which comes with the correct bearings, races, seal, and a cotter pin as well. The parts that come with this are LM67048/25580 Bearings, 25580/25520 races, and 10-36 Seal.
For a hub/drum replacement you would want the part # AKHD-655-6-K and then for self adjusting assemblies you would need the part # AKEBRK-7-SA and you'd be set! You'd have everything you need in case you run into any potential problems.

These worked on my 2018 Dexter 5100# axles. I highly recommend some gasket sealant on the outer area of the seals.

Thanks for the information. Before I order, I noticed what appears to be a mismatch between the bearing kit and the hub/drum you recommended. The BK3-300 appears to use an LM67048 outer bearing and LM67010 outer race, while the AKHD-655-6-K hub/drum appears to use a 15123 outer bearing and 15245 outer race. Can you please verify from my Dexter axle serial number 131171601 exactly which outer bearing and race my factory hubs use? I specifically want to confirm whether my existing Dexter hubs use: LM67048 / LM67010 or 15123 / 15245 I also want to make sure the AKHD-655-6-K is a direct replacement for my factory hub/drum even though its outer bearing is different from the BK3-300 kit you recommended for servicing my existing hubs. My axle is Dexter D52, 5,200 lb, serial 131171601, manufactured 05/21/2019. Thanks — I just want to positively identify the parts before ordering since I’ll have the trailer apart when doing the bearing service.
