TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Rear Tie-Downs - TL23RR Review

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Torklift custom rear frame-mounted camper tie-downs. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer RAM 1500 trucks with the six and a half foot bed without the board, or the step underneath the truck bed. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now, these tie-downs provide attachment points at the rear of your truck for securing your bed mounted camper to your vehicle.

Now, the front tie-downs we do sell separately on our website. Basically, one tie-down will go on the driver's side, one on the passenger side. And you'll see the two holes here on the tie-down inserts. This allows you to connect your turnbuckles from your camper to your truck, and not interfere with anything on your vehicle. Also on the shank, there's two holes on the shank of these inserts which allow for different width campers. Right now I have it for this hole.

If you pull out the pin, you can actually slide it in a little bit more and then pin it there. So, just depending on the width of your camper, you can adjust it by putting it into which hole you need. Once you get the hole lined up, you just go ahead and clip it in there. You're ready to go. Now, you will feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, and it's the safest way to haul a truck camper.

Prevents any vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions.Basically, you can haul your truck camper confidently by attaching your tie-downs to the strongest part of your truck, which will be the frame. And the vehicle manufacturers do recommend that a full height sliding camper body should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure. The frame-mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing the camper to the truck's base instead of just to its bed, which will better distribute the weight to keep the setup from being too top heavy. Also helps avoid any bed or bumper damage that's common with other tie-down systems. This is a fast no-drill installation, securing your truck camper to your truck. You can maintain the value of your truck and prevent rust and bed damage by avoiding having to drill any holes into your truck bed or bumper.

Again, this is custom fit for your vehicle. Driver's side and passenger side brackets. The brackets are designed to fit tight to the truck fame, and there's no loss of any ground clearance, so it's perfect for off-road truck camping. And what's nice when you're not using these, you can just take the clip, remove the insert. And then after the inserts are removed, then these are virtually undetectable when they're not in use because they're underneath the vehicle. And then when you go to look up your camper, you can just slide it in again to the correct hole you need. Put your pin through there, clip it, and you're all ready to go. Basically, the hidden design of these brackets will return your truck to its original look when they're not being used as tie-downs.These are a nice steel construction. They have a nice black powder coat finish on them for durability. Does include everything laid out here on the table. The two rear tie-down inserts, which are the inserts are right here. The frame brackets themselves, all the necessary hardware for installation, and even a nice set of instructions that'll describe how to hook everything up. This part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Torklift custom rear frame-mounted camper tie-downs.
