Best Equalizer Upgrade For A Camper With 2" Tall and 5-3/4" Wide Standard Equalizer

Updated 09/01/2026 | Published 08/27/2026

Question:

I am interested in the MORryde equalizer upgrade. My camper has an equalizer that is 5 3/4 wide, center to center bolts, and about a 2 between top bolt and lower bolts. Also, shackles, my current ones are 2 1/2 center to center, but about 3 1/2 total length, what would be the correct replacement?

Welcome back Mark!

The MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 33" Wheelbase - 8K # MR87ZR would be a great upgrade from a standard equalizer. This will be slightly taller and wider, but it's the one I recommend.

For the shackles, I recommend going with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3-1/8" Long Shackle Straps # MR76ZR. With the equalizer being taller and longer, you will also need longer shackles to allow for the springs to move properly.

What kind of trailer are you upgrading and where do you typically take it?
