Suspension Enhancement for 2019 Silverado 1500 for Occasional Towing

Updated 08/24/2026 | Published 08/15/2026

Question:

I have a 2019 silverado 1500 6.2l with tow package. I tow a 2 to 3 house trailer a couple times a year. I get a lot of squat when loaded. Id like to help this but also want to keep the ride quality through the year. I do have a rear sway bar added.

Hey Jake! The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS65FR are a great choice for your 2019 Silverado 1500, especially since you're only towing a few times a year. They'll help reduce the squat when the trailer is hooked up, and the progressive design means they won't have much impact on your unloaded ride quality the rest of the year.

They have 1,000 lbs of load support at 50% compression and are completely maintenance-free, so you won't have to mess with adjusting air pressure when you're not towing. Your rear sway bar can stay in place and will work with the SumoSprings.

Where do you typically take your horse trailer?

Just normal town towning.

@JakeR nice! For occasional towing around town, I think you'll be really happy with the SumoSprings. They will give you the extra support you're looking for without sacrificing your everyday ride quality.
