Question:
I have a 26 Silverado 2500 and picking up a 26 forest river rockwood roo. What model do I need to match truck and rv best. I’m going with blue ox track pro. Not sure on whether it should be 5/7/11 pin shank and what gvw rating.

Hello Sean,
Congrats on the camper, you will be on the road to adventure in no time!
The Blue Ox TrackPro is a great choice for your setup. Since you're towing with a 2026 Silverado 2500, the truck has more than enough capacity. The most important thing is choosing the TrackPro based on the loaded tongue weight of your Rockwood Roo, not the truck itself.
If you're getting the Rockwood Roo 17E, I'd recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU47FR. Its 600 to 800-pound tongue weight rating is a great match for what that trailer will typically weigh once it's loaded with propane, batteries, and your camping gear.
If you're getting the Rockwood Roo 233S or 235S, I'd go with the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU77FR. Those models typically end up with a loaded tongue weight in the 800 to 1,000-pound range, so the 1,000-pound spring bars will give you the better match and the best overall towing performance.
As for the shank, Blue Ox currently offers the TrackPro with 7-hole, 9-hole, and 11-hole shanks. For a stock-height Silverado 2500 and a Rockwood Roo, the 7-hole shank is the one I'd recommend. It provides plenty of adjustment to get your trailer towing level, and I don't see a need to step up to one of the taller shanks unless your truck has been lifted.
One other thing you'll need is the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # e28JR. Your Silverado has a factory 2-1/2 inch receiver, and the TrackPro is only available with a 2-inch shank. This reducer sleeve allows the TrackPro to fit your truck properly, and the magnetic design makes installation much easier since it stays in place while you're inserting or removing the hitch.
Is this your first pull behind camper? What floor plan did you end up going with?
