Replacement Air Ride Pin Box Recommendation for a 2008 Eagle Super Lite 30.5 RLS

Updated 07/23/2014 | Published 07/22/2014

Question:

I have 2012 F150 eco boost ext cab 4X4 with 6 1/2 box and towing 2008 Eagle super lite 30.5 RLS I am in the process of installing air bag support to the truck and would like to replace the king pin with Trailair Air Ride king pin The current king pin is Dexter 16000 lb P/N AF7926 with I believe, to be a medium length 19inch from centre to lead bolt and 26inch to rear bolt I have lowered the unit by 1 1/2 inch to increase the clearance from truck box to trailer and also to give more turning radius to the side of the truck box because of the virtually flat arm connection. Which model of the Trailair Air Ride King pin would replace the current set up?

What I suspect you actually have on your trailer is a Leland 7920 pin box. But since I can't confirm you will need to check out the FAQ article I attached on determining what pin box you have based on the dimensions.

If it turns out you have a Leland you would want the Air Ride Sidewinder part # ST400-5AS16K since you said you are looking for a replacement pin box for better turning clearance. Sidewinders move the pivot point back 22 inches and allow for great turning flexibility.

If you have a different pin box, once you determine which one you have you will want to check out the chart I attached in the second FAQ and see what Sidewinder is listed as a replacement for you.
