Troubleshooting TST 507 TPMS That Is Not Picking Up A Signal And Booster Shows Red Light

Updated 08/03/2026 | Published 07/20/2026

Question:

I have a tst 507 installed on my 5th wheel since @2021, last week we took a trip and it worked fine on the way there, but coming back my display is not picking up a signal, the booster is still showing a red light. Can you help me troubleshoot this problem?

Hey Greg, thanks for reaching out. Since the system worked on the way there and then quit on the way home, I'd start with the easy stuff. The red light on the repeater tells me it's getting power, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's talking to the monitor. I'd replace the batteries in the monitor first, then power it completely off and back on. After that, check that the repeater's antenna is still tight and that none of the wiring has come loose or been damaged.

If everything looks good there, I'd pull one sensor off a tire and see if the monitor picks it up. If it isn't seeing any of the sensors, then you're probably looking at an issue with the monitor or the repeater rather than the sensors themselves. Check all that and let me know your findings. I am here to help continue to troubleshoot if needed.

What kind of 5th wheel do you have?

I have a montana 38' fifth wheel. Thanks for your response I will try that, not sure I know how to replace batteries in the monitor mine plugs in to the truck and has batteries also. it doesn't work either way. I cant find anything in my Book about those batteries, just the ones in the sensors. could all of the sensor batteries die at the same time? Thanks, Greg

@GregG I mean the batteries in the sensors do go bad eventually but all of them dying at the exact same time seems like a bit of a stretch. Have you replaced the sensor batteries before?

@Greg Gotcha. I'd try replacing them then and see if that fixes the problem. Also try disconnecting the monitor from power for a few minutes then reconnecting. Let me know if that works.

I have a 2017 Airstream 28’ trailer since 2021. The TPS has worked great with no issues even on rubber extensions. I have had to replace the batteries only once in the past five years.
