Best Option For Reducing Sway In A 2024 Ram 3500 Pulling A 27 Foot Travel Trailer

Anyway, the best solution for getting rid of sway in your 2024 Ram 3500 Big Horn Night Edition mega cab short bed 6.4 Hemi 4x4 is going to be an anti-sway bar, like the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter # RM73FR. This is the largest option available for your Ram and will offer the best results. You do need to note that this will not fit trucks with the factory sway bar, so you will want to make sure you do not currently have one installed. You truck shouldn't have come with one, but it never hurts to check.

You can also replace the front anti-sway bar with the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar - 1-5/8" Diameter # RM47VR as this will be a lot beefier than the factory one. But I would start with the rear one first as changing the front one out may not be necessary once the rear is stabilized better.

Adding aftermarket air bags will also not be an issue after installing an anti-sway bar. This installs in a different place and we actually have people do this kind of thing very often. I am not aware of the LiftMaster brand air bags, but I would go with one of the following options:

Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Air Bag Kit w/ Internal Jounces - Rear Axle - Stainless Steel - 5K # PB29XV
Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle # AL88231

Both of these are rated up to 5,000 pounds of carrying capacity, but more importantly, they have internal jounces. This means they can be run at 0 psi when you are not towing. So either of these will not affect your unloaded ride, which is a huge plus, especially with how nice Ram trucks ride from the factory.

With that being said, I would start with the rear anti-sway bar. It may solve all your problems and you may not end up needing the air bags. You can always add those on at a later date if the anti-sway bar doesn't quite get you to where you want to be.

Our experience with the rear Roadmaster has been awesome. As you are doing, a little bit of research and hearing what others have said about their user experience helped with our decision to go with the Roadmaster first. Almost everyone wished they had spent the money on the bar before they went with the Bags or Timbrens. In your case, the load leveling hitch can tune out any increased weight on your rear suspension. Trailer loading, weight & balance experience is also very key to success. You won’t regret the rear bar, Lazer is spot on…
