Can A Demco Auto Slide 5th Wheel Hitch From A Ford Be Transferred Over To A Chevy Truck?

Question:
I bought a Demco auto slide for a ford off of e trailer I’m looking to buy a Chevy now can I move the hitch from for to Chevy it has the puck system in both trucks

Hey Rich, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can transfer your Demco Auto Slide hitch from your Ford truck over to your new Chevy. Ford and Chevy use different puck system footprints though, so you'll need to replace the side plates with ones made for the Chevy/GMC puck system. For that you'll need the following:
- Replacement Side Plates for Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Chevrolet/GMC # DM49GV
These will fit the Chevy puck system from the 2020-2026 model years.

I switch to the GM puck system. I got new side plates and worked great. Take in and out with problem. Thank you E Trailer.

Did exactly what you are doing. Went from 2021 Ford to a 2022 GMC. No longer needed the slider so both sets of adapters are setting under my bench. Etrailer is the best. Good quality merchandise.
