Question:

I am on level concrete. I push auto level. Starts its process. Get out of stroke on LM jack. When I get this the RF jack will not move up until i hit retract and start retracting. Then stop and will raise. Do auto level again same thing. Changed LM jack to LR spot and hit auto level. Got LM out of stroke again with different jack and LF will not move unless I do that process of retracting and then raising. I rehomed and recalibrated the system several times. Battery voltage is good and checked batteries for weak. All good. Pulling 10 to 14 amps when running the system. Would the controller be bad.

In order to test the controller on the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System you'll first need to obtain a multimeter. Once you have this then you will need to use the ground probe and place that on the green wire coming from the back of the harness and then use the power probe and place that on the black wire coming from the back of the harness. You should read 12 volts but if you do not have 12 volts you will need to trace this wire back while checking for shorts. It will be a good idea to check the batteries to make sure they are fully charged at this time as well.

If you get 12 volts at the back of the control panel you are then going to want to check the communication signal. In order to do this you will want to use the ground probe and place that on the yellow wire and then place the power probe on the red wire. You should see between 5-7 volts here. If you do then you will need to replace the control panel with the Replacement Control Panel for Lippert Components Leveling System part # LC421484. If you do not then most likely the control board will need replaced with the Replacement Control Module for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System part # LC304136.

In your second paragraph you said when placing the probes, you should see 5 to 7 V if you do, you need to replace the control panel then you went on to say if you do not then you most likely the control panel will need replaced those sound like the same thing to me

Conner, while you say that if you see from 5-7 volts then the control panel is bad, what should the correct reading be if the control panel is good? Thanks Lynden Landholm

@LyndenL Hey Lynden, Conner is not here anymore, he's returned to his home planet. But from what I can find the correct voltage for the control panel is 12.75 VDC.

In regards to the touch pad wiring harness; I get 11.9 volts on the black/green wires and 6.3 volts on the red/yellow wires. I replaced the vehicle battery and it has 13.91 volts when fully charged with the engine off and 14.45 volts when the engine is running, which is required for the leveling system to operate. I still get a low voltage message on the touch pad which I also just replaced. I have cleaned the battery terminals and all terminals and ground wire on the hydraulic motor that runs the Jack system. Also, the touch pad has a red flashing light on the “front” jack indicator on the touch pad. I had to manually retract all of the jacks due to the “low voltage” indicator to move the motor home. Any trouble shooting suggestions, I hate to replace the controller also if it appears to be testing ok.

@Duane I would say after all of your troubleshooting steps with the wiring connections and testing your voltage levels it's time to replace the control panel. We do have the replacement. It is the Replacement Control Panel for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 item # LC421484.

@Jerred I have 13.7 v at the black control wire, 7.69 at the red wire and 7.59 at the yellow wire. Is my control pad bad?

@James It definitely sounds like it if you followed the steps above and got those levels back. You'll need the Replacement Control Panel item # LC421484 if you have the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 system.
