I have a 2017 ford f250 will this unit activate the trailer connection so the vehicle will recognize a trailer has been attached

Hey David! The TowSmart 7-Way Connector w/ LED Illumination # TS36RR is just a 7-way connector with an extra LED so it lights up. This won't have the necessary power draw for your F-250 to recognize it as a trailer.
If you're towing a trailer with LED lights and it isn't detecting the trailer you need an adapter with built in resistors to fix it. If it is a 7-way you can use # C57003 and for a 4-way or 5-way # C35FR.
What kind of trailer are you towing?

I tried that plug and it still would recognize a trailer was connected. The truck will connect to the camper so I know the truck is fine. It’s another trailer that I try to pull.
