Can Wider Yakima OnRamp LX Wheel Trays Fit on Older Yakima OnRamp

Can I replace my older now wow tire trays on my Yakima on ramp with the wider LX trays and on ramp. Tires are getting wider and I like the On Ramp product and it look like these parts are inter changeable. Please let me know if this can be done?

Hey John, thanks for confirming for us that the wider LX trays like the part # Y63GD and Y67KD will work on the older Yakima OnRamp to allow it to fit wider tires. Like you noted you will need new T-bolts as well with part # Y88KV .

I ordered the Lx wheel trays and loading ramp for Lx and it can replace the older narrow trays with no modifications. I did find out that the T bolts also needs to be replaced. Once I get the T- bolts from you guys and swapped out I will send you pictures. I’m not sure why you said it would not work. I think it was a great upgrade for $300 instead of a $1000.

Also the older trays won’t work with any wide tire size. I know I tried and they rub the tray sides too much to work properly.

@JohnM I'm really glad it worked! Sorry about confusion on that. I checked with Yakima and they said it wouldn't work but couldn't really tell me why. Looks like you already have the # Y88KV on order so you should be all set. Let us know how it all goes together and works as this is really good info to have.

The correct replacement hitch pin for a Yakima OnRamp bike rack #Y36FR is the part #Y8890200 and then for the locking core for the end of it you'd need the part #Y07235 and you'd be set.
