Question:
I have purchased this product and Im having a really tough time getting the gooseneck pin to into the factory puck hole. I can get it in about half way and it is essentially jammed. Yes I have pulled the T handle to release the locking balls. I have tried to remove the paint in the gooseneck hole on the truck and that has helped a little. My fear is that if I do get it installed I will never be able to remove it. Will it loosen up a little once I start towing? The one thing I havent tried is grease, but I have used WD 40 as a lubricant and cleaner. I have a 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500hd short bed and the hitch defiantly fits the puck holes its just the gooseneck part.

Welcome back! If you're not seeing any visual defects in the gooseneck ball portion of the Gen-Y Gooseneck Hitch item # GY55XR then it just needs to be broken in. It'll loosen up once this happens and you won't have to worry about it getting stuck. It does require lubrication though so I would throw some white lithium grease like item # L11354 into the gooseneck hole.
Additionally, if there is excess paint in your Silverado's gooseneck hole you'll want to clean all of that off. The tolerances are really small so check the bottom and the sides as well for anything that could block the item # GY55XR. We've heard of issues of over spray from bed liners getting into puck and gooseneck holes and that could easily be what's causing the problem.
